A leading company in environmental systems is seeking an Operator for the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Monroe. The role involves essential duties such as treatment chemical management and analytical sampling, ensuring compliance with state regulations and a commitment to environmental safety. Candidates must have a high school diploma and mechanical aptitude, with a preference for individuals having one to three years of relevant experience.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:
Chemically treat each cooling tower weekly, check for proper operation and check primary make-up water source (city/pond).
Perform weekly check of the UST leak detection system, cathodic protection and interstitial piping in accordance with state regulations.
Perform weekly inspection of potential sources of oil spills and maintain records in accordance with state requirements.
Collect and package Universal Wastes including fluorescent lightbulbs, mercury switches and Ni-Ca batteries.
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pond water cooling system including the pumps, sand filters, valves, piping & controls (excluding plant piping).
Responsible for proper handling, storage and disposal of hazardous, special and general wastes for the Monroe Plant.
