Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking an Environmental Service Worker III for a part-time, days schedule (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM) with alternating weekends. This role serves a diverse patient population and requires safety-conscious cleaning and floor care across hospital spaces.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 months of cleaning experience. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to follow written instructions are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency to follow written work assignments and maintain records.
• Approximately 1–3 months experience to gain knowledge of cleaning procedures and power equipment use and maintenance.
• Continued education through appropriate seminars, workshops, participation in departmental meetings, trainings and NYU memoranda.
• Good interpersonal skills demonstrable in interactions with staff, administrators, patients and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work assignments.
• Communicate with ES Manager/Supervisor about progress and daily goals.
• Execute cleaning tasks and operate floor care equipment.
• Ensure floors are clean, safe, and free of debris.
• Maintain equipment and report repairs to supervisor.
