Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is hiring an Environmental Service Worker III for a full-time evening shift (3:00PM–11:00PM), Monday to Friday with alternating weekends. The role serves a diverse patient and staff population, requiring strong interpersonal skills and adherence to cleaning procedures and safety protocols.

The ESW III will interact with the Environmental Services Manager and team to prioritize tasks, maintain cleanliness, and ensure safe operation of cleaning equipment and chemicals

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Approximately 1–3 months experience in cleaning procedures and use of power equipment.
• Continued education through seminars and department meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work assignments.
• Communicate with ES Manager/Supervisor.
• Report progress of duties to ES Manager/Supervisor.
• Discuss the day’s agenda with ES Manager/Supervisors at shift start.
• End of shift, communicate any unfinished assignments to ES Manager/Supervisors.
• Dry mops/damp mops assigned areas and operate floor buffing equipment.
• Operate automatic scrubbing machine and safe handling of chemicals.
