Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental Senior Project Manager/Principal in Monroeville, PA. In this role, you'll lead project teams in providing environmental assessments and manage current clients while driving business development efforts.

Job description

Environmental Senior Project Manager/Principal

As an Environmental Senior Project Manager/Principal at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA offices, you will manage current clients and develop new business. You will lead project teams that provide environmental assessments, subsurface investigations, soil and water remediation, and permitting and compliance services. You will give senior direction on projects for real estate, manufacturing, public sector, oil & gas, power generation/transmission, and waste management clients, and perform quality assurance reviews of work products.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage proposals and project budgets.
• Ensure compliance with CEC's safety policies.
• Lead technical staff, manage project financials, and coordinate subcontractors.
• Perform quality assurance duties and project-related administrative tasks.
• Evaluate and interpret data, prepare reports, and drive business development efforts.
• Interact directly with clients, contractors, laboratories, and regulators.
• Mentor and coach staff, conduct annual performance reviews, and support individual career goals.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, with a minimum of 10 years in project management.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (PG) preferred.
• In-depth understanding of state and federal environmental regulations (RCRA, Act 2, CERCLA, CWA, etc.).
• Expertise in environmental site assessment and remediation, data interpretation, and client communication.
• Proven project management, budgeting, cost control, and deadline achievement.
• Experience supervising technical staff.
• Proposal development expertise (scope, budget, schedule), with a track record of safe and efficient project execution.
• Active participation in client- and professional development-based organizations.
• Established contacts in the real estate, oil & gas, mining, power, public sector, waste management, and/or manufacturing markets.
• Demonstrated business development and client management experience.
• Groundwater modeling experience is a plus.
