Job summary

Suburban Consulting Engineers, Inc. in Wall, NJ, seeks an Environmental Scientist (Remediation) to assist with field investigations and to support the Project Team in preparing technical reports.

Under senior staff guidance, you will contribute to site investigation, remediation, and other environmental work, with emphasis on technical writing and collaboration. This is a full-time position with standard office hours and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in the environmental field.
• Knowledge of the NJDEP Site Remediation Program and regulatory requirements.
• 40-Hour OSHA Training required.
• Technical writing skills are essential.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of an LSRP, complete report writing including Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigation Reports, Remedial Investigation Reports, and Remedial Action Reports.
• Under the direct supervision of a Project Manager, complete Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, Public Notice, Receptor Evaluations including well searches, and Electronic Deliverables for submittal to the NJDEP.
• Conduct fieldwork to complete site investigation, remedial investigation, and remedial action activities.

Title: Environmental Scientist (Remediation)

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

Location: Wall, NJ

Salary Range: $28-$38/hr, based on experience and qualifications

Brief Description

Candidate will assist with environmental field investigations and support the Project Team in the preparation of technical reports. The individual will contribute to project-related tasks associated with hazardous/non-hazardous waste site investigation, remediation, and other physical or natural-science based project work under the guidance of senior staff. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and grow in the environmental consulting field. Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills are vital for success in this highly collaborative environment.

This is a full-time position located at one of our Wall, NJ Office. The work hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
