Bechtel is offering a US-based Summer Internship for Environmental Scientist Interns. This 10-week program provides hands-on experience alongside industry professionals, combining fieldwork with office tasks to advance environmental, safety, and health objectives.

Interns join a global team, contribute to environmental planning, monitoring, and reporting, and gain exposure to regulatory compliance, permitting, and sustainability strategies across diverse Bechtel projects.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in environmental sciences or related disciplines
• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills
• Analytical skills related to sampling, monitoring, and recordkeeping
• Computer skills for presentations, data management, and report preparation
• Ability to work outdoors in field environments and adapt to weather conditions

Responsibilities

• Helps integrate environmental requirements into project planning, permitting, design, construction, and operations.
• Assists with development and implementation of environmental permits, plans, and studies.
• Supports site assessments and surveys to identify conditions and develop mitigation strategies.
• Provides technical guidance on mitigation measures for natural and cultural resources.
• Aids in development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans and procedures.
• Helps track environmental issues, regulatory requirements, and stakeholder concerns.
• Participates in emergency response and ES&H incident resolution.
• Performs environmental monitoring, sampling, and inspections for permit compliance.
• Prepares training documents and helps implement training for staff and visitors.
• Participates in meetings with customers and project teams to advise on environmental requirements.
