Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist II to join our Raleigh office. The role involves participation in environmental contamination assessments, remediation, plan reviews, and technical report writing within an interdisciplinary team.

The candidate will communicate effectively with project teams, clients, site personnel, and management, balancing independent work with team collaboration while supporting department growth and safety policies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Environmental Science or related field with 2+ years experience or equivalent
• Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to pass MVR
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred)
• Willingness to travel and perform field work, including extended hours
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations

Responsibilities

• Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
• Detects problems when using standardized procedures due to sample conditions or equipment.
• Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists.
• Proposes analytical methods and techniques; provides advice within scope of knowledge.
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis.
• Interprets and records data; conducts analyses; ensures compliance with regulations.
