Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Scientist for our Atlanta, GA office to support CERCLA remediation projects including Superfund and DOD sites. The role involves data planning, sampling, analyses, and reporting across RI, FS, ROD, and related activities.

Responsibilities include coordinating subcontractors, developing work plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to environmental solutions using chemistry, biology, hydrology, and related sciences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering or Environmental Science and 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• US Citizenship or eligibility required for the role
• Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to travel as needed

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, analyze and report on environmental measures in natural systems.
• Apply standard field practices and collect samples of soil, groundwater, surface water, and sediment; prepare samples for shipping and manage chain-of-custody.
• Coordinate with project managers, on-site subcontractors, and field staff to support sampling and data collection.
• Prepare technical work plans and reports; interpret data and compare findings to regulations.
• Oversight of subcontractors including laboratories and excavation/drilling operations.
• Support CERCLA RI/FS/RD processes on Superfund and DOD sites.
