Job summary

Ahtna, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Scientist I/II/III/Sr for dynamic field and office work in Fairbanks, Alaska. You'll conduct site characterization, sampling, and reporting while advancing your environmental career across multiple levels and duties.

The role includes travel, teamwork with project managers, and opportunities to lead project tasks. A strong background in physical or life sciences and MS Office proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical/Environmental Sciences or related field.
• Ability to pass background checks by federal agencies to obtain security access.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct contaminated site characterization, monitoring, and remediation field assessments.
• Travel by aircraft, vehicle, ATVs, or boats for fieldwork and site visits.
• Field screening and sampling of contaminants in multiple media following SOPs.
• Document field operations, communicate with project managers daily.
• Lead or support preparation of plans, reports, and proposals.
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure safety and schedule compliance.
