Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science or related field is required.
• Some experience in field-related activities, environmental data collection, and/or water quality monitoring is desirable.
• Valid Texas driver’s license is required; GIS certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of statistics and ability to use computer software to analyze data is required.
• Strong planning and field-study execution skills, including boats under 20 feet, are essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute field studies with supervision and logistics.
• Maintain, calibrate, and oversee field equipment (boats, Doppler profilers, electrofishing gear, probes).
• Process and manage field/lab data, including QA/QC and reporting.
• Collaborate with regional/state agencies on environmental field studies.
• Create and maintain GIS databases as required.
• Produce high-quality reports using spreadsheets, databases, and word processors.
• Conduct literature reviews and investigations on topics of interest.
