Job summary

Hudbay seeks an Environmental Scientist to support compliance reporting and Environmental Management System protocols. You will coordinate with construction and operating teams, perform data collection, inspections, and review permits to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will work under the Senior Environmental Scientist, preparing technical reports, coordinating with site personnel, and helping implement environmental plans across Arizona operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in environmental science, chemistry, geology, natural resources, or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• 2–3 years of experience in environmental-related field preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the company.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing field procedures and site plans for chemical and waste management.
• Review contractor proposals to ensure alignment with SOPs.
• Review new chemical products prior to site approval.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure environmental plans meet permits and policies.
• Plan and analyze data for environmental studies with senior staff.
• Maintain records and prepare compliance reports.
• Conduct field inspections and coordinate with employees, contractors, and consultants.
• Lead installation, operation, and maintenance of scientific equipment.
