Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Environmental Specialist in Houston, TX to support integrating environmental requirements into planning, design, construction, and startup phases. You will provide guidance on mitigation, participate in emergency response, and help ensure compliance with contract and regulatory Bechtel requirements.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related field and 1–2 years of experience (or 5–6 years in lieu).

  • 1–2 years of relevant experience or 5–6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to research and comprehend regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supports execution of the environmental component of an ESH Program, including technical and administrative aspects.
  • Assists development and implementation of Environmental Management Plans and procedures.
  • Integrates environmental requirements into planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Researches issues and regulatory requirements and prepares documentation and reports.
  • Participates in emergency response and meetings with stakeholders.
