Job summary

EXP is seeking an Environmental Inspector - Lead to join our Environmental and Regulatory group in Houston, TX. The role focuses on environmental compliance on the construction spread and directing environmental inspectors.

The Lead has authority to stop work for environmental violations and will coordinate with the project team and third-party monitors. The successful candidate will lead training, oversee erosion controls, document daily inspections, and support ROW restoration and permitting

Qualifications

• Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences and other written materials.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and field coordination.
• Proven ability to take detailed meeting notes and distribute them to attendees.
• Capable of performing responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental inspectors and roving inspectors on assigned spread.
• Stop work activities that violate environmental conditions per documents.
• Train inspectors and field supervisors in Environmental Compliance Plans.
• Coordinate with Construction Management Team and Contractors.
• Oversee erosion and sediment control, and photo documentation.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and review them before distribution.
• Oversee spill response and installation of environmental signage and flagging.
• Coordinate environmental sampling and landowner disputes.
