Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer - Journeyman to support the U.S. Air Force Environmental Restoration Program. The role involves advisory services, contract oversight, and coordination with Air Force stakeholders to advance site cleanup and closure efforts.

Ideal candidates will have 3–10 years of experience in environmental restoration, knowledge of DERP/RCRA/CERCLA, and strong communication skills. A DoD security clearance is required for consideration.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and written/oral communication skills.
  • Experience with environmental restoration programs and government contracts.
  • Ability to develop statements of work and independent government estimates.
  • Familiarity with ERPIMS data and data gap analysis.
  • Knowledge of RCRA/CERCLA regulations and DERP.

Responsibilities

  • Provide A&AS support to the Air Force environmental restoration program.
  • Oversee investigations, remediation contracts, and safety briefings.
  • Develop statements of work and IGEs for environmental contracts.
  • Review deliverables, schedules, and project documentation.
  • Lead technical presentations and manage a project team.
  • Interact with installation and program managers and ensure timely deliverables.
