Environmental Scientist (Compliance)

Location: Richmond, VA.
This position will be responsible for providing environmental compliance services associated with the construction of data centers, residential developments, commercial properties, utility, and transportation development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Environmental compliance (VPDES) inspections and reporting
• Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development and auditing
• Coordinating with federal and state resource agencies with regard to wetlands, erosion and sediment control and stormwater compliance
• Best Management Practices (BMP) construction monitoring
• Virginia Water Protection (VWP) construction monitoring

Skills/Requirements

• Bachelors degree in an appropriate discipline
• At least one year of experience performing Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater compliance inspections and reporting preferred
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines under limited supervision
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Outstanding communication skills
• Experience working with a diverse client base in both the public and private sectors
• Willingness to regularly travel regionally and out-of-state
• Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Erosion and Sediment Control and/or Stormwater certifications preferred

Compensation

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $63,000-$68,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.
