Job summary

Hudbay is seeking an environmental professional to support field procedures and site plans for chemical and waste management at our Arizona operations. You will review contractor proposals for SOP alignment, assess new chemical products, and work with the Project team to ensure construction activities comply with environmental plans and permits.

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, geology, natural resources, or a related science field.
• Advanced MS Excel and MS Office skills.
• 2–3 years of experience in environmental-related field preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro is a plus.
• Proficiency in communicating with diverse teams.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Assists in the development of field procedures and site plans for chemical and waste management.
• Review of contractor proposals to ensure alignment with standard operating procedures.
• Reviews new chemical products prior to site approval.
• Works with the Project team to ensure construction activities comply with environmental plans, policies, permits, etc.
• Coordinates planning, project execution and data analyses for environmental scientific studies in collaboration with senior staff.
• Maintains records, prepares reports, composes correspondence and performs other administrative activities as necessary to meet compliance requirements.
• Conducts field inspections related to construction or other engineering activities and coordinates with employees, contractors, consultants, and other teams.
• Leads the installation, operation and maintenance activities associated with scientific equipment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

• Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, chemistry, geology, natural resources, or other science degree.
• Advance level of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in environmental-related field preferred.
• Experience with ArcGIS Pro software a plus.
• Ability to work in an effective manner, with limited supervision, with a diverse group of professionals in a collaborative work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate to all levels confidently and effectively within the company.
