The candidate will know or learn how to interpret data from team meetings, construction plan sets, project timelines, and proposed construction actions into an environmental plan that identifies field needs, permitting needs, and other actions to ensure regulatory compliance. If a candidate shows an aptitude and interest for project management, they will be incorporated into that process with our senior project managers.

  • Take initiative to learn the project and clients needs with and from direction of our senior project managers.
  • Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others as needed.
  • Draft state and federal permitting documents/applications for impacts to wetlands and waterways in the Great Lakes Region.
  • Complete desktop and field reviews for state and federal threatened and endangered species.
  • Complete field investigations including wetland delineations and waterway assessments.
  • Prepare GIS maps and develop field data collection forms.
  • Occasionally work on a construction site and interact effectively with construction crews.
  • Having a commitment to safety for yourself and others.
  • Supports project managers on aspects of a large, complex project or several moderately or small sized projects.
  • Prepares independent technical reports and completes initial reviews of project plans and engineering details.
  • Manage large sets of project data in an organized manner.
  • Travel to project sites required, including overnight travel.
  • Prepare Work Plans and Health and Safety Plans.
  • Perform other duties as required and that advance your skill-set and environmental career.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with some of that experience being focused on energy, utility or corridor related projects.
  • At least 3 years of consulting experience.
  • Experience or familiarity with drafting State and Federal permit applications in Wisconsin and/or Michigan.
  • Experience or familiarity with soil, groundwater, soil vapor assessment.
  • Outstanding problem-solving, organization, coordination, writing, people, and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest in project management, including developing and managing budgets and project schedules, attending meetings internally and with the client, and drafting scoping documents.
  • Experience or familiarity with asbestos, lead and PCBs assessment of building materials is a plus.
  • Experience or familiarity with preparing Waste Management or Decommissioning Plans.
  • Experience with Endangered Resource Reviews.
