North Coast Container is seeking an Environmental, Regulatory & Safety (ERS) Specialist for our Chicago plant. You will be the go-to person for keeping people safe and operations compliant, working on the plant floor and in the office while reporting to the Plant Manager.

You'll own regulatory compliance, lead incident investigations, audit teams, and build ERS programs across plants. Travel to other sites is required as the ERS program expands.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Environmental Science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Illinois environmental, health and safety regulations.
• Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis.

Responsabilités

• Spot hazards before they become injuries by analyzing risks to people, equipment and machinery.
• Lead incident investigations and near-miss reviews and drive root-cause fixes.
• Lead audit teams to verify safety and environmental practices are followed.
• Own regulatory compliance by interpreting federal, state and local regulations for steel manufacturing and recycling.
• Prepare and submit environmental and safety reports, permits and correspondence for the site.
• Design and improve ERS programs, tools and training across the company.
• Coach and communicate requirements clearly from plant floor to leadership.
