Job summary

State of West Virginia’s Division of Land Restoration in Fairmont seeks an Environmental Resources Specialist 1 to assist with site assessment oversight, future land-use planning, and public participation within OER’s programs. You will gather data, review applications, and help maintain the ERIS/OERIS systems and staff contact lists.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Proficiency with Google apps and MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with professional oversight of site assessment activities.
• Support remediation planning and sampling activities in program areas.
• Assist in coordinating LUCs reviews, receipts, and annual inspections.
• Review project applications, work plans, and reports as needed.
• Maintain ERIS/OERIS data entry, templates, and staff contact lists.
• Promote public participation and community awareness of programs.
• Support grant coordination, budget projections, and reporting.
