The New York City Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) is seeking a Geologist to perform professional geology work on project sites under the E-Designation and VCP programs in New York City.

This role involves managing field investigations, remediation activities, and coordinating with development teams, public officials, and city agencies. A bachelor's degree in geology or a related field is required, with field experience and NYS license preferred.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in geology, engineering, earth sciences, environmental sciences, or closely related field with 24 credits in rock/soil mechanics, structural geology, soils, sedimentation, petrology, hydrology, hydrogeology, geomorphology, or related areas.
• At least one course involving geologic field work or three months of satisfactory, full-time professional geologic field experience.
• A New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York is required.

Responsabilités

• Manage development projects with review/approval of plans, site investigation reports, remedial action work plans, and final reports to meet schedules.
• Implement laws and policies to meet Mayor’s Office environmental goals.
• Develop fluency in NYC VCP, E-Designation Hazmat, Noise, Air programs and related initiatives.
• Coordinate communications with development teams, the public, officials, and other city agencies.
• Oversee field sampling, remediation, and engineering activities.
• Maintain databases and archives for program oversight.
• Assist with project management and oversight activities as needed.
