Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Deputy Department Manager — Environmental Remediation in California. The role will oversee a group of major programs and projects, ensuring client KPI achievement and strong program performance.

Hybrid work model preferred for the LA/Orange/Long Beach region, with flexibility to San Diego or up North for qualified candidates. The successful candidate will manage approximately 50 department staff, ensure risk mitigation, and drive digital tool adoption while delivering billable

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Must pass a background check.
US citizenship or permanent residency is required. Sponsorship at this time or in the future will not be offered for this role.
California Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer (preferred).

Responsibilities

Drives program performance to meet client satisfaction and KPIs.
Manages governance and risk issues and ensures triggers are addressed.
Develops solutions to client problems and participates in major project reviews.
Leads program delivery and digital tool adoption for improved performance.
Manages a team of approximately 50 department staff and mentors project managers.
