North Wind Services (NWS) seeks an Environmental Engineer for LLNL in Livermore, CA. You will provide advanced engineering support for groundwater and soil remediation systems, plan field experiments, and ensure compliance with DOE and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Advanced knowledge and significant experience in environmental remediation and the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of remediation systems and components.
• Significant knowledge of groundwater and soil remediation systems, calculations, chemistry, and treatability tests.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, design review processes, and documentation.
• Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems.
• Advanced knowledge of California and Federal remediation regulations.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint; multi-platform work capability.
• Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate in teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced environmental engineering support for remediation at LLNL.
• Design, test, and optimize groundwater and soil vapor remediation systems.
• Monitor operations; identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.
• Plan and conduct field experiments to validate remediation technologies.
• Oversee existing and new remediation systems.
• Prepare regulatory and technical documents; ensure compliance.
• Keep knowledge up-to-date with environmental policies and technologies.
• Collaborate across teams and assist in cross-functional projects.
