Job summary

Axiom is seeking an Environmental & Regulatory Attorney to support refining operations and midstream matters in Houston, TX. You will advise on environmental compliance, regulatory requirements, and agency matters, partnering with stakeholders across the energy sector.

The role requires a J.D., an active Texas license (or other US state), and at least 8 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include research, enforcement liaison, and due diligence for corporate transactions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of environmental and regulatory law experience.
• Experience providing compliance counseling to business clients.
• Experience with governmental agency interactions and enforcement matters.
• Working knowledge of federal and state environmental laws (e.g., Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act).
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school and active license to practice in Texas or another US state.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day environmental and regulatory advice and compliance counseling.
• Conduct legal research on federal/state environmental requirements and agency matters.
• Investigate environmental/regulatory issues and prepare responses to governmental agencies.
• Support environmental due diligence, corporate transactions, and regulatory filings.
• Stay current on developments in environmental law and enforcement actions.
