The Environmental & Regulatory (E&R) team operates within the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) organization and partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Land, Subsurface, Legal, and other business functions. This position supports onshore assets in the U.S. and Canada by helping ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local environmental and regulatory requirements.
This is a developmental opportunity for a proactive, solutions-oriented professional who is eager to learn, takes ownership of their work, and can operate independently with appropriate guidance. The Environmental & Regulatory Analyst will support E&R professionals and advisors with regulatory tracking, compliance deliverables, permitting, reporting, data management, and environmental matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and apply applicable federal, state, provincial, and local environmental regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Support the identification, tracking, and completion of regulatory and compliance obligations, including monitoring, recordkeeping, reporting, and recurring compliance activities.
- Prepare and submit regulatory pre-activity notices and end-of-well deliverables associated with drilling, completions, water management, and abandonment activities.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and deliverables, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule with limited supervision.
- Develop and present environmental and regulatory training materials with appropriate oversight.
- Provide environmental and regulatory guidance and support to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in the Management of Change (MOC) process by evaluating environmental and regulatory considerations.
- Support data collection, quality review, consolidation, and reporting associated with greenhouse gas (GHG) and sustainability requirements.
- Track regulatory submissions and compliance performance, identify potential issues, and communicate challenges to appropriate stakeholders.
- Support regulatory and compliance programs while identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
U.S. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate data collection and regulatory reporting for applicable U.S. requirements, including those administered by the Texas Railroad Commission (TRRC), EPA, TCEQ, and other state and local agencies.
- Support TRRC filings, waste reporting, SPCC plan management, and groundwater conservation district reporting.
- Support flare monitoring and compliance activities in accordance with applicable TRRC, TCEQ, and internal requirements.
- Assist with EPCRA and SARA Tier II reporting requirements.
- Support data collection, recordkeeping, and reporting for applicable Canadian federal and provincial environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with regulatory submissions, permits, approvals, compliance tracking, and follow-up activities for Canadian onshore operations.
- Coordinate with Canadian asset teams and internal stakeholders to gather information, maintain documentation, and ensure timely completion of regulatory deliverables.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in HSE, environmental compliance, oil and gas, or a related industry preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn and apply environmental and regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with regulatory agencies such as TRRC, EPA, TCEQ, BCER, ABER, or similar agencies preferred.
- General understanding of onshore oil and gas development and production operations, including processing equipment.
- Ability to research, understand, and apply new environmental and regulatory requirements with appropriate guidance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, professionalism, sound judgment, and work ethic.
- Ability to work occasional weekends as needed to support operational and compliance activities.
- Ability to travel to onshore assets up to 25% of the time.
- Must reside within approximately 70 miles of Houston, Texas.

- Valid passport with no restrictions that would prohibit international travel.
