Job summary

City of Austin AmeriCorps VISTA Program seeks a dedicated individual to help build capacity and address disparities across Austin neighborhoods. You will research engagement programs, form stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the Community Engagement Plan to support workforce development.

The role emphasizes outreach, education, and collaboration with City departments and nonprofits to expand resources and opportunities for underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Research current volunteer and community engagement programming to determine how they address education, workforce, and development, and community disparities, as well as identify future Visitor Center needs.
• Develop relationships with priority stakeholders and develop recruitment strategy for engagement and volunteering.
• Execute initial stages of Community Engagement Plan and research County and stakeholder resources and partners to complement our plan and goals of workforce development.
