Job summary

Interstate Environmental Commission is seeking an Environmental Analyst to provide Quality Assurance oversight of water quality monitoring projects and the IEC laboratory in Brooklyn, NY. The role focuses on maintaining QA programs and supporting NELAP accreditation efforts.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in an environmental laboratory setting, plus coursework satisfying NYSDOH ELAP requirements for chemistry and/or microbiological analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years in an environmental laboratory setting.
• Completion of coursework satisfying NYSDOH ELAP Technical Director requirements for chemistry and/or microbiological analyses.
• Proficiency with Excel and experience with LIMS; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall Quality Assurance oversight of IEC’s water quality monitoring projects and laboratory.
• Serve as the focal point for the laboratory’s quality assurance program.
• Support the maintenance of the laboratory’s NELAP accreditations.
