Job summary

City of Delray Beach is seeking an Environmental Laboratory Analyst to perform field and laboratory analyses of potable and non-potable water in accordance with Florida DEP and NELAP standards. Under supervision, you will conduct tests, maintain records, and support safety and quality programs.

The role requires an Associate's Degree in Chemistry or related field and at least two years of professional lab experience, with knowledge of UV-VIS, ion chromatography, microbiology, and NELAP

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Two years of professional lab analysis experience.
• Knowledge of UV-VIS Spectroscopy, Ion Chromatography, Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Knowledge of NELAP practices.
• Knowledge in calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments.
• Knowledge of Standard Methods, DEP, NELAP and EPA procedures.

Responsibilities

• Collect potable and non-potable water samples and perform field testing.
• Bottle washing, preservation, and sample preparation as needed.
• Perform physical, chemical and biological analyses using EPA-approved methods.
• Maintain records of sample collection and analysis results.
• Maintain and calibrate analytical instruments and keep stock control.
• Coordinate safety programs and manage Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
