Job summary

Intertek is seeking an Environmental Staff Scientist/Engineer/Geologist in Orlando, FL to oversee environmental projects in the Orlando region. Travel up to 30% may be required as business needs dictate, with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental or civil engineering from ABET-accredited school.
• 1+ years of proven technical environmental consulting experience including site investigation and risk assessment.
• Detail-oriented, team player with excellent communication, analytical, organization, and time/budget management skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook; remediation planning calculations knowledge preferred.
• Working knowledge of FDEP SOPs for soil, groundwater, and surface water.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and valid driver's license required; OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
• AHERA accredited Asbestos Inspector a plus; PE/PG/EIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM Phase I/II/III) and manage UST/LUST projects.
• Assist with soil gas, vapor intrusion investigations, remedial actions and construction.
• Prepare engineering calculations and technical proposals/reports for clients.
• Communicate with subcontractors, team members, and regulators to align with plans.
• Author technical reports and assist with proposals and budgets.
• Work within project budgets to build relationships with clients and team.
