Job summary

Onterris in Orlando, FL, is seeking a mid-career scientist, geologist, or engineer to join our environmental remediation and assessment team. You will work with project managers on Phase I ESAs, CERCLA projects, and regulatory reporting.

The role emphasizes field oversight, data interpretation, and report preparation, with travel across Florida; salary range is $80K-$100K depending on experience, location, and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related scientific field
• 7+ years of experience, including the performance of environmental investigations and leading field efforts
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Valid driver’s license, ability to travel and obtain security clearance at federal installations.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of computer aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.)
• The ability to work under physically demanding conditions, canvassing large project areas on various terrains
• The position will involve travel, primarily within Florida

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements sampling plans for field investigations alongside the project manager
• Leads field efforts and guides junior staff on data collection and documentation
• Analyzes analytical data, identifies data gaps, and recommends changes
• Contributes to Conceptual Site Models
• Coordinates subcontractors for geophysical surveys and drilling investigations
• Prepares reports, tables, maps, and visual aids for regulatory approvals
• Executes ASTM-compliant Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
• Coordinates responses to emergency spill incidents for clients in central Florida
• Interacts with federal, municipal, and private sector clients
• Follows safety rules and participates in training
• Supports continuous improvement and professional development
