Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our New England Environmental Team. This role can be based in our Glastonbury, CT office or our Quincy or Woburn, MA offices, with primary responsibilities across environmental projects and client delivery.

You will manage multi-disciplinary projects, mentor staff, ensure profitability, and develop new business while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or related field.
• Masters degree preferred.
• 15+ years of related environmental experience.
• LEP/LSP or license pathway.
• Ability to mentor staff.
• Proficient with MS Office suite.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Excellent safety record and practices.
• Valid driver's license and transportation.
• Business development acumen.
• CRM reporting familiarity.
• Deltek Vantagepoint experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of environmental projects and regulatory work.
• Ensure annual project profitability targets (≥$750K total).
• Develop at least $500K in new project work yearly.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.
• Source new business opportunities.
• Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work.
• Ensure safe performance of project work.
• Prepare and deliver marketing presentations.
• Hire and manage subcontractors.
