Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary projects in the environmental sector. You will drive project profitability, develop new work, and deliver technically rigorous reports and proposals.

Ideal candidate has strong technical writing, business development, and mentoring skills, plus experience managing subcontractors and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8+ years of environmental field sampling, data collection, and MCP report preparation under the direction of a Licensed Site Professional (LSP).
• Technical writing and oversight.
• Business development experience and project management.
• Experience mentoring and training junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage cumulative project total $400K annually and achieve profitability goals.
• Develop $300K in new project work annually.
• Write and review technical reports and proposals.
• Provide Due Diligence technical guidance to junior personnel.
• Prepare and deliver marketing presentations.
• Hire and manage subcontractors.
• Mentor and train scientific staff and ensure quality work product.
• Ensure safe performance of project work.
• Review Phase 1 reports and write Phase 2 proposals and reports.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in related field and 8+ years of experience with environmental field sampling, data collection, and MCP report preparation under the direction of a Licensed Site Professional (LSP).
• Technical writing and oversight

• Previous experience mentoring and training junior staff members
• Microsoft 365/CRM
• Experience with Deltek Vision is highly desired.
• Previous experience with Ohio Voluntary Action Program, Kentucky Environmental Agency, and Indiana Environmental Agency is preferred.
