Job summary

Verdantas is hiring in Ohio to lead environmental and oil/gas projects from scoping through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence. You will oversee Phase II ESAs, manage sampling across soils and waters, and prepare regulatory-compliant reports and permits.

As a client-facing leader, you will mentor junior staff and participate in business development, requiring strong communication, technical writing, and Ohio regulatory knowledge including VAP and BUSTR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of environmental consulting experience.
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Ohio VAP, BUSTR, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred.

Responsibilities

At Verdantas, your career goes beyond the expected, and your work helps build a better world.**What You'll Do:*** Manage environmental and oil/gas projects from scoping through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget performance.* Oversee and conduct Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).* Direct soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapor, and stormwater sampling.* Prepare technical reports, permits, and regulatory approvals.* Serve as a key client contact and mentor junior staff.* Support business development and proposal efforts.* Regulatory-facing expertise and leadership, preferably with Ohio EPA and ODNR.* Experience with **Ohio VAP**, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, and BUSTR frameworks* Phase II ESA leadership, environmental sampling, and compliance-driven project work* Mentorship, staff supervision, and project/program oversight elements layered into responsibilities**What You Bring:*** Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field* 5+ years of environmental consulting experience* 2+ years of project management experience* Knowledge of oil and gas industry standards, preference with orphan well experience.* Knowledge of civil engineering construction projects and the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies throughout project execution.* Knowledge of Ohio VAP, and BUSTR with an understanding of RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA* Strong communication and technical writing skills* OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred**Salary Range:**The starting salary range for this position is $100,000 per year, with final compensation determined based on qualifications, experience, and certifications.**Benefits:*** Flexible Work Environment* Paid Parental Leave* Medical* Dental* Vision* Life and AD&D Insurance* Short-Term and Long-Term Disability* 401(k) with Company Match* Paid Time Off + Holidays*Verdantas strives to develop new ways to increase diversity awareness within our organization.
