Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Staff Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our Resilience Environment team in Raleigh/Cary, North Carolina. You will work on soil, water, and air quality projects, conduct fieldwork, and contribute to monitoring and remediation efforts while collaborating with teams across the Carolinas and southeast US.

The role combines office tasks such as data analysis, reporting, and client communications with field activities, combining flexibility and travel as projects evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in geology/environmental science/engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of environmental consulting experience.
• Advanced degree (M.Eng., MS, MBA, etc.) may be preferred.
• HAZWOPER training preferred.
• Subcontractor oversight experience may be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Field preparation, equipment procurement, and analytical sampling coordination.
• Site visits, soil sampling oversight, groundwater sampling, and excavation oversight.
• Provide emergency response support for environmental incidents with potential travel.
• Prepare technical reports, work plans, and correspondence.
• Coordinate tasks, analyze data, prepare proposals, and manage health and safety plans.
• Assist project managers with subcontract development and budget/timeline management.
