Job description

Soundview Consultants, a Trinity Consultants team, is a respected environmental firm with over 15 years of service in the Pacific Northwest. We specialize in land and marine use planning, permitting, and ecological assessments near wetlands, streams, and shorelines. Our team supports diverse clients across the Puget Sound region with expertise, integrity, and a collaborative spirit.

Soundview is adding an Environmental Project Coordinator to the team! The Environmental Project Coordinator provides both project coordination and technical support for environmental consulting projects, assisting project managers, clients, regulatory agencies, and scientific teams with project logistics, staffing coordination, permitting, reporting, and fieldwork. This role helps ensure efficient project delivery while supporting wetland, shoreline, fisheries, and other natural resource projects throughout the Puget Sound region. Through close collaboration with technical and operational teams, the position offers opportunities to develop environmental consulting, project coordination, and field science expertise, with potential career growth into project management, technical, or operations-focused paths.

What will I be doing?

  • Coordinate project staffing by reviewing project scopes, assigning technical and field personnel based on project requirements, skills, capacity, and scheduling priorities, and adjusting assignments as needed to optimize team utilization and meet project deadlines.
  • Support project execution by coordinating personnel, equipment, vehicles, PPE, field gear, and site access requirements; communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure fieldwork is fully prepared and mobilized.
  • Monitor project status, maintain project awareness through documentation and correspondence reviews, and proactively communicate schedule, resource, or scope changes that may affect project objectives or deliverables.
  • Prepare technical deliverables, including wetland, shoreline, and habitat assessment reports, technical memoranda, permit applications, and supporting documentation, using applicable regulations, codes, and background research.
  • Submit, track, and manage permit applications and agency requirements; maintain accurate, organized project records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct wetland delineations, ordinary high-water mark determinations, habitat assessments, and related field investigations under the guidance of senior staff, with increasing responsibility and independence. Field duties include collecting and documenting vegetation, soils, hydrology, photographs, and other site data.
  • Provide cross-functional operational support, including seasonal scheduling and logistics assistance, administrative backup coverage, project intake support, contract preparation assistance, and other business operations activities as needed.
  • Adhere to all company health, safety, and quality standards while performing field, office, and project coordination responsibilities, and perform other duties as assigned.

What qualifications are required for this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Fisheries, Ecology, Botany, Geology, or related discipline required.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of related professional experience required.
  • Two (2) to four (4) relevant certifications or training classes preferred, ideally including wetland science assessment/delineation methods.
  • Additional industry training, or volunteer experience in related settings, are considered assets.
  • Knowledge of or interest in project management, natural resource permitting, or environmental planning.
  • Ability to reprioritize and task-switch, complete tasks on time, and proactively communicate delays.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work successfully in both field and office settings.
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools; experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, GIS/GPS systems, and/or Smartsheet preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

The wage range for this position is $27.00 - $31.00 per hour.
