Job summary

The City of Denton seeks an Environmental Programs Supervisor to lead and coordinate its environmental initiatives. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, review data, and support enforcement actions and reporting.

You will manage sampling, data analysis, and documentation, participate in budgets, and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain environmental standards across city operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science, or related field.
• Three (3) years’ experience in environmental programs or related field.
• One (1) year experience in management or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and assigns work and ensures staff follow SOPs.
• Review, understand, and implement federal, state, and local regulations for compliance.
• Receive, review, and evaluate technical data for compliance and defensibility.
• Coordinate sampling events and prepare reports for permits, inspections, and regulatory agencies.
• Develop program budgets and monitor expenditures for staffing and equipment.
