The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is seeking an Environmental Program Manager 2 to oversee the Permits Unit. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and leading process improvements. The position offers full-time remote work options within Arizona. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of environmental rules, particularly the Clean Water Act.

The Permits Unit Manager oversees operations and personnel within the Surface Water Protection Section. Responsibilities include managing the drafting and quality assurance of Clean Water Act permits, ensuring compliance with regulations, leading staff development, and managing grants and improvement projects.
This position allows for full-time remote work within Arizona, including virtual office arrangements.
Must have a valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function. All new hires must complete the E-Verify process.
