Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Washington, DC, is seeking Environmental Science graduates to join our office in 2027. This is not a remote position.

You will help prepare environmental documents, analyses, and agency consultation packages, and assist in meetings for infrastructure projects across federal agencies. You’ll gain experience with NEPA, CWA, ESA, NHPA, and related permitting processes while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field by Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare environmental documents, analyses, agency consultation packages, and document required project mitigated and environmental commitments.
  • Organize and prepare materials for public meetings, agency consultation, commission meetings and environmental hearings.
  • Assist in reviewing historic environmental or planning policy documents and preparing existing environmental conditions documents in support of planning and environmental linkages and alternatives analysis.
  • Support various project managers and collaborating with team members.
  • Gain knowledge in NEPA, CWA permits, ESA, NHPA sections as applicable.
  • Work with infrastructure projects across federal agencies and prepare for agency coordination.
  • Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and Kimley-Horn’s standards.
  • Learn natural resource regulations, water quality programs, water resources, endangered species, cultural resources, GIS and development of environmental documents and permits.

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Environmental Sustainability, or related majors
