Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking planning students to join the Riverside, California office. This is not a remote position, offering exposure to environmental planning projects.

Qualifications

  • Prepare quantitative analyses with accuracy and precision to meet scientific and legal standards.
  • Develop fluency with federal, state, and local regulations related to air quality, greenhouse gas, and noise, and with Kimley-Horn practices and standards.
  • Communicate methods and results of analyses to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Conduct site visits, including field noise measurements.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Planning students to join our Riverside, California (CA) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate has had exposure to environmental laws and regulations including California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), and/or the Clean Air Act, and a passion for applying sound scientific research and judgment to guide our clients through the environmental clearance and permitting process. This role will consist of preparing technical analyses in the fields of Air Quality, Energy, Noise, or Greenhouse Gas/Climate Change, utilizing state-of-the-art models, current scientific datasets, recognized guidelines and policies, and other relevant tools to solve some of the most pressing environmental needs of the day.

Additional responsibilitiesare:

Qualifications
  • In the process of receiving a Planning Degree (Bachelors or Masters) from an accredited program in of the following majors:
    • City and Regional Planning
    • Urban Planning
    • Environmental Science
    • Public Health
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Atmospheric Science/Meteorology
    • Or Other Related Major

Hourly Range:

$30 - $31
