Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mid-level Environmental Planner - Transmission focus to join the Environmental Planning and Permitting team in the Midwest region. This hybrid role can be based in multiple offices across the Midwest with flexibility in work location.

You will lead or support environmental planning and permitting efforts for energy infrastructure projects, including NEPA documentation, and manage client relationships, schedules, and budgets while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, geography, natural resources, engineering, or related field.
• 4 years of relevant experience in electric transmission and renewable energy permitting or equivalent.
• Ability to travel for agency/client meetings, as needed.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support environmental planning and compliance for energy infrastructure projects, including NEPA documentation.
• Manage siting, routing, permitting, and certificate processes across Midwest jurisdictions.
• Develop and track project schedules, budgets, and invoicing; coordinate with clients and subconsultants.
• Mentor and develop junior/mid-level staff within the team.
