Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks an Environmental Planner 2 to guide environmental practices for maintenance projects. You will review permits, provide regulatory guidance, and use hydrology expertise to advise on permitting and mitigation needs.

The role supports storm water oversight and hazardous waste procedures while coordinating with field personnel. As part of a public service team, you will work standard hours with potential telework options after probation.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as Environmental Planner 1 or equivalent, or
• Five years of progressive professional experience in environmental planning, or
• Master's degree in planning or environmental sciences with two years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead permit review and ensure compliance with environmental requirements
• Provide regulatory information to district staff for emergency operations and hazardous materials handling
• Evaluate hydrology and hydraulic reports and advise on permitting and mitigation needs
• Support MS4 and SEMP compliance through inspections, audits, and training
• Interpret regulations and assist with hazardous and residual waste procedures
• Review engineering drawings and calculations related to storm water control measures
