Job summary

Las Vegas Valley Water is seeking an Environmental Planner II to perform environmental planning, data collection and compliance assessments for district projects in the Las Vegas area. The position may underfill at Environmental Planner I depending on qualifications.

Under general supervision, you’ll prepare compliance documents and coordinate with federal, state and local agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project adherence to environmental laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• Graduation with a major in earth science or closely related field and at least two years of professional environmental planning experience.
• Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred and may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in environmental research projects and prepares plans and submittal documents.
• Assists in monitoring environmental compliance with federal, state and local laws.
• Coordinates with agencies and contractors during document development.
• Maintains knowledge of environmental regulations and prepares technical reports.
• Provides environmental compliance support across District departments.
