Job summary

HDR is seeking an Environmental Planner 1 to join the Transportation Business Group in Nashville or Brentwood, TN. You will collect environmental data, prepare NEPA documents, and support public meetings while coordinating permits and project budgets.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Environmental Science/Resources/Planning, strong MS Office skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset aligned with HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Resources or Planning is required.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite is required.
  • Strong writing and communication skills are essential.
  • Active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and report project-related environmental data from interviews, map reviews, and field investigations.
  • Prepare NEPA documents and associated technical memoranda.
  • Prepare for and participate in public and client information meetings and hearings.
  • Prepare, plan, and analyze/review technical studies, permit applications, NEPA documents, and related reports.
  • Assist clients with permit coordination, acquisition, and compliance for wetlands, bridges, and endangered species.
  • Manage and report on environmental project scope, schedule, and budget.
