Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. in Irvine, California is seeking an Environmental Planner I to assist with CEQA/NEPA documents, field surveys, and project coordination across transportation, rail, renewables, water, and utility sectors.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related field, are ready for an entry-level role with 3 years of CEQA/NEPA experience, and can work in a mixed office/field environment with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, natural resources, planning, or related fields (advanced degree a plus).
• Entry Level role. Three (3) years of experience preparing CEQA/NEPA documents for transportation, rail, transit, renewables, and utility sectors in California.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate with peers, senior staff, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CEQA/NEPA documents, technical documents and environmental permits, including compliance with California Coastal Commission and other permits.
• Assist with budgets, scopes of work and schedules.
• Conduct site visits or field investigations and prepare technical reports or permits.
• Monitor environmental commitments during construction.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, subconsultants and agency personnel.
