Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. seeks an Environmental Planner II for our Irvine, California office. The ideal candidate will manage CEQA/NEPA tasks, support project management, and prepare environmental reports and permits.

Travel to various sites may be required, and a strong focus on collaboration and communication is essential. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in environmental fields and 5+ years of CEQA/NEPA experience in CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, natural resources, planning, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
• Five or more years of experience preparing CEQA/NEPA documents for transportation/rail/renewables/water/utility sectors in California.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to communicate with peers, senior staff, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CEQA/NEPA documents, technical reports, and environmental permits (including coastal commission and agency permits).
• Assist with budgets, scopes of work, and schedules.
• Conduct site visits or field investigations and prepare technical resource reports or permits.
• Environmental compliance, monitoring, or tracking of environmental commitments during construction.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, subconsultants, and resource agency personnel.
• Review project drawings and provide environmental input.
• Conduct quality control reviews of documents.
• Assist with business development and marketing efforts.
• Prepare maps and figures using GIS.
• Conduct research for environmental considerations on projects.
• Prepare tables, comment logs, or document templates.
• Other duties as necessary.
