Job summary

TYPSA, Inc. seeks an Environmental Planner I for our Irvine, California office. You will assist with project management, lead tasks, and prepare CEQA/NEPA documents and permits, while conducting field investigations for projects across transportation, rail, renewables, water and utilities.

The role emphasizes communication, collaboration with subconsultants and agencies, and the ability to work across office, field, and home environments with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in environmental sciences, natural resources, planning or related field.
• Three years of experience preparing CEQA/NEPA documents for transportation, rail, transit, renewables, and utility sectors in California.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for peers, senior staff and clients.
• Office, field and work-from-home environment; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare CEQA/NEPA documents and technical reports or permits.
• Assist with budgets, scopes of work, and schedules.
• Conduct site visits or field investigations and prepare technical reports.
• Monitor environmental commitments during construction.
• Coordinate with internal disciplines and subconsultants; interact with agencies.
