JSI invites you to join our team as an Environmental Specialist II on our Permitting & Environmentals team in our Lubbock, TX office where you'll play a critical role in advancing broadband and telecommunications initiatives that expand connectivity and drive digital inclusion—while advancing your career within a mission-driven, growth-focused organization.

As part of the role, you will support environmental permitting and cultural resource review for projects, including Section 106 activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related field; OR 30 archaeology credits with field experience.
• 5–10 years environmental agency permitting experience.
• NHPA and Section 106 compliance knowledge.
• Experience with environmental permitting or cultural resources with federal/state/local agencies.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to prepare agency reports.
• Proficiency with GIS and office software; manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Research environmental concerns and required steps.
• Coordinate with federal/state agencies for permitting clearance.
• Support land use and environmental permitting efforts; certificates and permits.
• Assist with project compliance, fieldwork, budgets, and scope development.
• Coordinate survey efforts between consultants and agencies.
