Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Environmental Permitting Professional to support planning, permitting, and delivery of electric transmission projects. You will lead permit applications, coordinate consultants, and ensure regulatory compliance across project phases from routing through closeout.

Travel up to 20% and field activities will be required. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4–8 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental planning, geology, biology, engineering, planning or related field.
• 4–8 years of progressive environmental consulting, regulatory, planning, engineering, construction, or infrastructure experience.
• Experience leading environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, environmental review, and linear infrastructure project delivery.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations, permit conditions, and agency correspondence.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to agencies or stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and submission of environmental permit applications.
• Develop permitting strategies, schedules, and agency outreach plans.
• Coordinate consultants producing environmental studies and materials.
• Manage agency comments, revisions, commitments, and approval tracking.
• Facilitate coordination among engineering, land, construction, environmental, legal, and project teams.
• Negotiate and discuss with regulators and external stakeholders.
• Review technical work products for regulatory alignment.
• Mentor junior analysts on permitting procedures and requirements.
• Report permitting status, risks, and schedule impacts to leadership.
