The Environmental Specialist II serves as the education and outreach coordinator for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Clean Boating Program in Tallahassee.

The role involves organizing outreach events, developing educational materials for marinas and the boating public, facilitating Clean Marina designations, and coordinating with regional Clean Boating Coordinators to achieve federal and state program goals.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of verifiable related experience or a degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel, including multi-day trips.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to deliver presentations.
• Ability to organize data, use problem-solving techniques, and work independently.
• Ability to attain Florida Certified Contract Manager within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Organize outreach events for the Clean Boating Program in Tallahassee.
• Develop educational materials for marinas and the boating public.
• Facilitate Clean Marina designations.
• Coordinate with regional Clean Boating Coordinators to achieve program goals.
• Manage the Clean Marina Program and maintain stakeholder communication.
• Conduct research and provide technical assistance to marinas and partners.
