Job Description:

The Environment Monitoring Associate (EM) is responsible for monitoring biological and airborne particulate levels in clean room environments for the preparation, compounding, and filling of sterile injectable drug products.

The EM Associate will be trained on proper aseptic behavior, sanitization processes, and donning of sterile gowns. Associates must be able to read detailed procedures, maintain clear documentation, and operate environmental software applications. Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Within the first Six (6) Months you will:
  1. Collect product and environmental samples within an ISO 8 environment over extended periods (typical EM shifts include 8, 10, and 12 hours).
  2. Operate monitoring sampling and testing equipment, including software, to compile data.
  3. Prepare supplies for sampling and testing.
  4. Operate autoclave for sterilization of supplies.
  5. Perform verification and incubation of EM samples.
  6. Verify data accuracy.
  7. Read and understand SOPs, maintaining current training requirements.
  8. Obtain Aseptic Gown Certification.
Six (6) to Twelve (12) Months:
  1. Achieve gown certification for ISO 7, 6, and 5 classifications; monitor environments and collect samples related to quality parameters.
  2. Complete EM training in at least one ISO 5 aseptic area.
  3. Review and update SOPs as required.
  4. Write observational memos and assist in investigations.
  5. Review environmental data, verify monitoring data before incubation.
  6. Train others for Aseptic Area Gown Certification and SOPs.
  7. Obtain train-the-trainer certification.
Twelve (12) to Twenty-four (24) Months:
  1. Cross-train on multiple sterile filling lines, maintain gown certifications, and adhere to GMP procedures.
  2. Assist in environmental investigations.
  3. Read, review, and trend testing results.
  4. Lead training programs for technicians.
  5. Support resource evaluation for tasks.
  6. Update EM SOPs using Master Control.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to read and follow procedures independently.
  • Effective communication skills regarding environmental monitoring and quality issues.
  • Willingness to ask questions and investigate environmental issues.
  • Decision-making skills based on available information.
  • Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and report deviations accurately.
  • Physical dexterity for aseptic gowning, ability to lift 25 lbs, and perform prolonged standing, sitting, twisting.
Shift:

Weekday Days Mon-Wednesday & Every other Thursday, 5:00am - 5:30pm

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage: $22.98/hr, with growth opportunities and annual raises.
  • Shift Differential Pay: Weekday Day (2.50%), Night (10%), Weekend Day (12%), Weekend Night (15%).
