Job summary

Catawba Indian Nation seeks an Environmental Monitoring and Surveillance Technician in Rock Hill, SC to support the Environmental Protections Division. The role involves ambient air quality work, water testing, data management, and field sampling to protect tribal lands and resources.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/ associate’s degree in science or related field preferred.
• Possess a valid SC driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.
• Ability and willingness to obtain additional environmental or laboratory certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist ambient air quality monitoring and regional program management.
• Perform drinking water laboratory duties for bacteriological testing as required.
• Test surface and drinking water samples per SDWA and CIN SOPs.
• Maintain lab inventory and records for federal and state certifications.
• Prepare technical reports and data interpretation for inspections and testing services.
• Collect samples of soil, air, and water as needed.
